| Description | The barrels floated in the water, reminding Long Drong of the day when he and his men had fallen from grace. Their ship, the Barrel of Ale, had set out from Barak Varr carrying a payload of rare Dwarf ales and had foundered off the coast of Sartosa in a terrible storm many years ago. When the storm passed, all the priceless beer had gone to the bottom of the sea and Drong's beloved vessel had been dashed against the rocks. Long Drong and his crew survived the disaster by clinging to the wreckage of the Barrel of Ale and drifting to shore. Long Drong, a proud Dwarf who came from a lineage tracing back to the legendary Drong the Hard, took the loss of his ship and its rare cargo hard. So hard, in fact, that he felt the only way to make up for the loss was to take up the Slayer's Oath. His crew, ever loyal, took the Oath alongside him. The newly shaven and dyed Slayer Pirates promptly captured a human pirates' ship in a daring raid and re-named her the Barrel of Ale II. From this ship, the Slayer Pirates had been launching attacks on any and all who threatened the waters around their home seaport of Barak Varr. In so doing, they hoped to meet their glorious ends while doing battle upon the sea they all loved. The sound of explosions brought Long Drong back to the present. The greenskins were back. Their blockade of Barak Varr had been going on for weeks and once he and his lads finished repairing the Barrel of Ale II from within their hidden portage, the Slayer Pirates would recommence their attacks upon the invading fleet. This would be a glorious death indeed. |
